We bought a peekapom from Shelby in September 2006. The puppy was well cared for and our vet was happy with his condition. The kennel left a little to be desired in terms of structure and cleanleness but we love our dog and would go back there.

We bought a malti-chi from them in 2006 and as soon as we got her home we found that she was very sick. We took her to the vet and found that she had coccidia which is a parasite usually found in stagnite water in the mountains. The "sales lady" stated that she knew the dog wasn't sick, "because the dog was playing with other dogs and acting fine when we took it." Yeah-like the dog developed giardia and intestinal parasites in the first 48 hours that we had it. We gave the "sales lady" our vet's phone # so that she could call him and she even argued with him that the dog wasn't sick when we picked him up. We asked her to pay the vet bill and she said that she didn't have any money. We really only wanted to let her know that the dog we took was sick because there were several other dogs in the litter and we were concerned that they were probably also sick as well and they were unaware. Do you think the "sales lady" cared? Not at all. I would never buy another dog from this breeder and if you do end up deciding to buy from this breeder I would take the dog to a vet first and make the sale of the dog contingent upon the dog passing a physical exam.
