Dog Boarding Facilities in North Dakota

We've never had anything but positive experiences with Ruffin' It. We've used them for 6 years. I give them the supplies with feeding and medication instructions clearly marked on the food bag and medication holder. We've never been let down.

I will preface this by saying our dog has previously stayed at Ruffing It several times over the past 4 years and we have always been happy with the experience, so we felt confident leaving our dog there again. However, after the most recent stay, we will never be returning there again. I called 2 or 3 weeks before to make the reservations for boarding and was told we were all set. We had a change in our travel plans and I needed to call a few days before we left to make changes to the reservation. At the time that I called to make changes, they could not find any record of my existing reservation. This could have been quite an issue if we showed up to drop our dog off the day we were leaving and they were fully booked with no reservation for us. Thankfully, we avoided that scenario but we were not off to a good start. When we dropped him off, we had to provide his feeding instructions which are 1 cup of food twice a day. It should be noted that this was a 15 day stay. When we picked him up, we noticed he looked skinny but didn’t immediately get concerned. When we got home and brought the food container in, there was a piece of paper taped to it with feeding instructions- ½ cup twice a day! They fed my dog HALF of what he was supposed to eat , for over 2 weeks, of course he was skinny! Upon weighing him, he had lost approximately 4 pounds while we were away (he weighs only 35 pounds). I understand that dogs may have a change in appetite when boarding, but the written proof that they were only feeding him half of what he should get is alarming. We also found a clump of bloody matted hair on an ear and patches where the hair was missing, it appears he had a run-in with another dog. I also understand that dogs may nip each other but I am concerned that no one was even paying enough attention to see that my dog must have been clearly bleeding to bother to clean it off or to mention it to us when we picked him up. When my husband spoke with the owner by phone to voice our concerns about everything this time, there was an excuse for everything and no offer for a refund or concession of any kind. view short comment

left my 2 small dogs there for a week for boarding. the staff was great. check in and checkout went smoothly. watched the dogs on the webcam during the week. we had a great experience as did our dogs.

My wife and I dropped off two big dogs for five days and used one of the private rooms. We gave ruffin it a bottle of heart medicine to give to one of our dogs. when we picked up the dogs , the girl handed us the bottle of medicine with the top eaten off by a dog and the bottle was empty. she said it happened a few days ago. My wife and I dropped off two big dogs for five days and used one of the private rooms. We gave ruffin it a bottle of heart medicine to give to one of our dogs. when we picked up the dogs , the girl handed us the bottle of medicine with the top eaten off by a dog and the bottle was empty. she said it happened a few days ago. ( what ?? ) ruffin it never called us about the pills which could have killed a dog and then said it might not have been our dog. meds are just left on the floor outside the suites. We contacted the owner and found out that we had also been overcharged , which we then found out that it was refunded as an in house coupon , not cash. I would not recommend this place unless you have no choice, then good luck. view short comment

The girl at the desk even wrote it all down. When we came to pick them up, half of their food was still sitting in the bags we brought it in, including Sasha's medication! They had only fed our dogs half of the food they were supposed to, and skipped half of one dog's medication! They offered no real explanation or apologies, and offered no discounts to make up for their incompetence. view short comment
