Wanted to give this place a chance since my husband used them a few years ago before they opened the lodge, but we can no longer subject our 4 legged daughter to this place. Shame on us! When you leave an establishment over and over again with a weird vibe, you should trust your gut feeling. One of the owners has a shady past as well and it's not good. First strike- Initial boarding experience was less than professional. The lady behind the counter was abrupt and indifferent and didn't receive us as welcomed guests. Just chucked the contract in front of us and said to fill it out. Was given a tour of the facility and when we walked by the grooming area, the techs were dousing one another with a hose while grooming the dogs. Maybe the A/C was out. When we picked our girl up the next day, we went to her room and saw urine on the floor. When the tech went to retrieve her bed pillow, it was saturated with urine to the point that it was streaming out of the pillow. Our dog was up against the door, far away from the mess. Trust us, she never has accidents! Red flags went up and the owner stated that it 'never' happens and put the blame on someone else. The owner took no responsibility for this mishap. Was my dog not taken out on a routine basis? Second strike- Dropped her off for an extended stay (7 days). Brought all her gear with her and again was greeted in an unprofessional manner. The lady at the counter wasn't courteous and when I tried to explain about my dog's care, she, the clerk, could care less. I was specific about her eating off a plate, cleaning her ears and the lady could give a rat's tail. These people seemed to always be on the defensive for some reason and lacked customer service 101. I brought her water bowl just so she could have some comforts from home and the lady rudely told me to take it home. Third strike- We arrived home from vacation a day early and alerted the lodge that we were coming to pick her up at 10:00 am and would like her groomed as well. Upon our arrival, my husband spoke to the owner to settle the charges for grooming and boarding. He had already paid for the boarding, but asked about getting a credit for the extra day that was not utilized to use towards the grooming. The owner became haughty and said that it was in the contract and that there were no refunds for early pick up. My husband was calm and just said that he might have overlooked it. The owner then said it doesn't matter if we are friends, that this was business. Wow! I don't believe my husband was trying to cut a deal, he was just trying to understand the policy. Our dog was returned to us and she seemed anxious to leave. They gave us her blanket still damp from the wash/dry along with her extended stay bag. We arrived home and she just wasn't herself. Of course we know there is an adjustment period, but she just wasn't right. I went to snuggle with her and when I lifted her ear flaps I saw a wad of cotton stuffed in her ear! It was pretty deep and took me a bit to pull it out. I checked the other ear as well and low and behold, another wad of cotton. While I understand that her ears were cleaned and protected from water, it is negligence, period. Once I removed the wads, she was wagging her tail and tons happier. Guess she could hear us now. We called the lodge to alert them of this mishap and the owner again took no responsibility, apologized and then just handed the phone over to one of her employees who apologized. I searched her bag for her nylon bone and ceramic plate. Both items had her name written on them. Both were nowhere to be found. We contacted our dog sitter who took her out of the lodge over the weekend and asked if he had seen her bone. He said no. Leads me to believe that her bone was lost and she had not used it in days. My dog loves her nylon bone! I know this because I picked her up a new one today and she was ecstatic! She had the bone in mouth wherever she trotted! As you can read, this was a lesson learned and I hope this place shapes up. If you value your pet as a loving member of your family look elsewhere. You will not receive quality professional care from this place. view short comment

Love that the dogs are kept in rooms and not kennels! We will be back again. :)
