Dog Boarding Facilities in Maine

BAD Experience - Brought in my two Goldens with instructions to bath and trim nails - imagine my SHOCK when I picked them up & they no longer had any feathers or whiskers!!! Never again will I enter that store.

I find it a bit strange that the new owner is from New York and thats where Lisa is from. So does she still have her hands in the business far away? Also are they even licenced to board animals?

I would never go to this place again....I brought my cat in today for a loin cut....four hours later I go to see if she was ready...NOPE they told me it would be another couple of hours. The guy kept saying "my job is to not to stress the cat out" over and over and over while looking at the clock!! WOW!! We thought about it and told them to give me my cat i wasn't leaving her there any longer. So i get home take her out of her crate...wanted to see how much they got done in four hours...REALLY...REALLY.... one strip about 4" long down her back is what they had done....WOW she would have had to be there about three months before they finished her cut. But they didn't want to stress her out...what he heck do you think it did to her by keeping her in the stupid crate for four stupid hours?? So bottom line to everyone...DO NOT bring your pets to Doggy Doo...because they Doo NOTHING!! view short comment

Since the first three people complained to the state of maine animal abuse numerous people have called in to complain. Thereare not only 5 previous employees who say they have witnessed abuse but also about 8 other dogs have also been injurered. If you are finding this hard ... view full comment

Since the first three people complained to the state of maine animal abuse numerous people have called in to complain. Thereare not only 5 previous employees who say they have witnessed abuse but also about 8 other dogs have also been injurered. If you are finding this hard to belief just call Norma Worley at the Animal Welfare Department. My second thought, I checked out every other doogie day care and groomers in the waterville area and Lisa Carl's Doogie Doo is the only one out of all eight listed that have any reviews at all. Doesn't that seem strange. Last, remember this women just moved here a short time ago from New York with a HISTORY of the same abuse, people move, they don't change. Please do your own investigating before going to any groomer/boarder. view short comment

We have had our standard poodle groomed there since they opened and have been very pleased. Lisa is the best groomer in town and the staff has been helpful and friendly.

We took our Lab to Doggy Doo and could not have been happier. She was smelly all over from days of swimming in the lake. We are not from this area so we asked our friend who lives here where they take their dogs. She has been going to Doggie Doo for a couple of years and has never had a bad visit. I feel I must reiterate that this the best place in the state to take your dog. If you are looking for grooming, boarding, or day care(for those times you need some time to yourself) this is the best place around. This place will also cater to other pets as well such as cats. Lisa is great groomer and a wonderful person! I've known hers for over 30 years and she would never harm or neglect any animal! Dogs will be dogs and some of them will cause problems quicker than any human can react. A pet professional can only hope to be quick enough to stop any serious or even fatal damage. Within 2 day he was completely house broken and he had stopped biting me. Every day he seems to learn something new. Also Lisa does a awesome job with his grooming and she has some great employee working for her. They love all the dogs and they go out of their way to please us "doggy mom's". So whoever is spreading the nasty rumors please stop because they are simply not true. If anyone is looking for a top notch place to take your dog for grooming, day care, boarding, or any thing else A Doggy Doo is the one and only place I would recommend. view short comment

One came back looking like he had cancer...all kids of bald spots, the other had a huge spot where her hide had been taken off..bloody spot .looks horrible. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. I boarded my beagle for one night there and a few days later with a trip to the vet, discovered wounds around her neck and on her back, an abscess, most likely an attack from another dog. Needless to say, the only thing mentioned to me when I picked her up was she had a cut on her ear from "playing with another dog." The owner said she was not aware of what happened when I called her and after several very upsetting phone calls, I still don't have a straight story as to what happened to my dog. They did pay the vet bill. But they have lost my business permanently. view short comment

I know for a fact that puppies are placed in the large dog room with large dogs and the staff member is expected to look out for the welfare of the puppy. They provide a nice up front view and tour but once you leave your pet it's a different story. They are rude, she shows a temper and seems not able to control it, he is just as rude at times. Go else where do not get sucked in to the lower grooming prices your pets are worth more than ten or fifteen dollars price differance. view short comment

I have been to Doggie Doo. I have met Lisa. The place is clean and she really seemed to care about the animals. She told me about her Military background and took time to make me feel at ease. When I went I talked to a few people and everyone seemed friendly and explained all the different things available at the store. They ALL asked about my pets. First of all i am a pet owner one dog and 1 cat. with that said i went in one saturday afternoon to check out the facility. i was greated by a young man at the counter, i asked to see the wash facilities were you can bring your pet in to give a bath. he said they were being used. that was ok. then an older gentleman came to the counter to ask why i was here . i was taken aback by that question. i had already explained myself once. i would assume if someone goes in to a pet groomer they have a pet. but no i had to tell him i want to wash my dog. then he asked what kind of dog , fair enough , i wouldnt think it wouldve mattered. a lady in the background grooming a dog looks at me as if im from another planet, she rudely asks the older gentleman what does he(me) want. she says we only have self serve pet wash mon-fri 10-2 . really snooty likee . hmmmmm , well that leaves me out i work mon-fri days , which i think most people do. so i left very unhappy with the customer service with all three people that were behind the counter. i will not be back. thats not the way to treat people . esp if you have a new business view short comment
