Dog Boarding Facilities in Colorado

Smith's was recommended and I visited the place and liked what I saw. The pack mentality made sense and I never thought my dog would be at the bottom of the pack. After a few months of daycare and boarding all was well. Then within three months two incidents of my dog getting bit. First time not sure it happened at the facility and I was willing to chalk it up to dogs being dogs... The second time it was positive and the vet even said he could see the teeth marks. No question she was bitten. Not sure what happened but my dog has been to various facilities over the years and this is the first time my dog has two surgeries, two different times. My dog has had incidents of rough playing or grumpy behavior but the person watching the dogs stopped it and told me about it. My opinion is that owner chooses to let his alpha dog monitor the dogs. I am not sure the dogs are monitored 100% of the time when they are in a group. I have quit using them as I cannot afford the vet cost. When all said and done $2000 over three months and the owners never offered anything...Not even refunding the boarding cost when it was known my dog was hurt there. Consider the pact idea very carefully. view short comment
