Welcome to Tradewinds Pet Suites, one of Leeward Oahu's best-kept secrets. Located in sunny Lualualei Valley, we're a small, family-operated kennel. We offer all oversized, fresh-air kennels, each featuring a cozy indoor area that opens directly into its own, private 25-foot outdoor run. Guests are free to relax inside or enjoy the outdoors as they choose. We also offer two huge, fully fenced "play yards." These spacious grassy areas, complete with mature Palm and Mango trees, provide a place where our guests can run, roll, play and generally do the things dogs love to do.
Accommodations
We offer exclusively "over-sized" guestrooms -- no crates or cages. Accommodations are available in three sizes -- our Double King Suites accommodate two compatible members of the same Ohana. These suites offer 270 square feet of living space (30' long x 9' wide) with two separate indoors areas, each 4.5' x 3.5'.
Our King Kennels are 30' x 6' and include an indoor area that is 6' x 3.5'
Our Queen Kennels are 30' long by 4.5' wide and include an indoor area that is approximatley 4.5' x 3.5'.
Checklist
For the health and well-being of all our guests, we require a written certificate from your veterinarian showing current vaccinations.
DHLLP (Distemper, Parvovirus, Hepatitis and Leptospiroris) must have been given with the past year (or within the past 3 years if your vet gave a 3-year vaccine). A Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine is required within 6 months of boarding -- sorry, no exceptions. Pets are also required to wear a tick collar while staying with us. If you're not sure your pet is properly immunized, please call us and we will be glad to help answer your questions.
All guests must be parasite-free and provide documentation of being on heartworm and parasite prevention programs such as Sentinel, Frontline, Revolution or Advantage, etc.
All guests must have had a bath within 24 hours of arrival at Tradewinds Pet Suites.

Our male Irish Wolfhound needs a safe place to go every 6 months or so when our female is in season and I would highly recommend Tradewinds. Very clean with loving people. Our big fellow was wonderfully cared for and I never worried about him. He was given lots of room to run. Well worth the drive, which is beautiful.

Our Irish Wolfhound Dubhlainn was well taken care of during his time at Tradewinds. He spent several days and a couple of nights and we had no worries. Friendly staff, you can tell that they just love all the animals in their care. Very clean and well kept runs with a great exercise yard. Thank you taking such great care of our boy.

We love Tradewinds for so many reasons! Sandy and staff are kind and knowledgeable, the property is clean and large, and our dogs love being at "camp." The larger suites for more than one dog allow our fur babies to still hang out with each other when away from the familiarities of home. We have been very blessed to have had Sandy and her team be there when we've needed them. We travel frequently and are always in need of someone to watch our babies. Most places won't or don't know how to care for GSDs here in Hawaii. Sandy, Alex and others are definitely BIG DOG people. Our babies, especially Kuma the super Alpha, definitely approve of them. I absolutely love this place & all of their wonderful staff! They are friendly & always take great care of my 2 dogs. The facility is clean & spacious & they pay that special attention to your pets if they require it. One of my dogs is a rescue dog & usually very fearful of new people & places. I am so happy to have found Sandy and Tradewinds Pet Suites . Our dachshund, Whily, always has an excellent time there and comes home happy with a lot of energy and spunk. They also have a wonderful website and Facebook page that allows Sandy to share pictures of your happy canine is you so choose. Since we travel often, it was important for us to find a facility for our Shiba Inu Dobi that would offer a suitable environment without adding additional stress. Sandy and her assistant were so friendly and great to work with. We immediately felt comfortable about leaving our dog, Hoku, in their care. Hoku was made to feel very comfortable, seemed well-adjusted throughout her stay, and even lost a few pounds through their exercise program! We would most highly recommend Tradewinds Pet Suites as your pet's "home away from home!"

We went to Europe last year and were lucky enough to find Tradewinds Pet Suites on short notice (our previous place canceled 10 days prior). B/C of our previous experience, we were cautious in taking our dogs to a new place. Our German Shepard and 2 Toy Poodles stayed wtth you while we took a quick trip to Vegas. Our Aussie mix stayed while we went to Oregon and was able to extend her stay, as our plans had changed. We could tell she (Bailey) had a blast and enjoyed herself. The staff is very friendly and we would recommend Tradewinds to anyone!!!!

Our lab mix puppy Kiko spent his first time away from us at your fine facility when he was still using pee pads. He is a year old now and has turned into a fine dog. We will be traveling to Kauai soon for a family reunion, and plan to have him stay with you folks again. We feel comfortable that he is well cared for while he is with you. Thanks.
