Dog Boarding Facilities in Maine

We love this place. We have been taking our pets here for many years. The owner and staff are great. We currently have two dachshund and they are a handful but the staff have been wonderful to them. We would recommend Puddleby to anyone who loves their pets and want them to receive great care while visiting the kennel.

We had boarded 4 dogs over 28 years with them. The knowledge of the owners and his staff are wonderful. The area is pristine and the kennels are really wonderful. The homestead is just that, a home with warmth a n d love of animals. Tom we love you and your love of dogs....see u soon.

Charming and Clean Kennel Puddleby on the HillI Acton,Me: I found this place online via a negative teview and I decided to give it a shot anyways. So glad I did. What a gorgeous place inside and out. Even my 14 year old son acknowledged how cool this place was. There are wood/gas stoves burning, gorgeous rugs, framed pictures, decorations and statues. The dog kennels are stained wood sided, tiled flooring with clear glass door fronts. Each kennel has a nice dog bed. I examined all of the other boarders (almost a full house on a random Wednesday in January) and these were happy dogs. I picked up my dog and he was not stinky and was very happy and healthy. I was given a great report that my dog was well behaved and had no potty accidents in his kennel. This tells me he was treated well. There is no website but I can assure you the gentlemen is old fashioned and doesn't even know how to operate an email address. He is very organized via filing cabinets and paper. He also has many repeat clients and long term clients as he has been boarding dogs for a long long time. He also knows all of the local Veterinarians and is very knowledgeable about dogs. The reason this place is so cheap is because I think he doesn't realize that he could easily charge twice his $15 rate!!! He doesn't have the internet and so he doesn't know that his competitors are charging 2x his rate...So don't tell him ! ;) I assure you that this is a wonderful little place and a great value. We drove in and felt like we were at Disney for Dogs. Don't be discouraged by this first review. See for yourself. I will continue to take my dog there and I live about 30 mins. away. view short comment

The Family remembers who we are even when we meet elsewhere and greet us as friends. They even remember each of our dogs we have had over the years (and we don't even need to board them more than once a year, sometimes not for two or three years!) MY SAMOYD,BREAGHA,STAYED WITHTHEM FOR 2 WEEK IN LATE FALL OF 2010. SHE HAD A GRAND TIME AND I WASN'T BROKE WHEN I PICKED HER UP. GREAT PLACE.
