Dog Boarding Facilities in Mississippi

I've been using Affinity Retreat for daycare and boarding for about 6 months now. I travel alot for work and have to drop my dogs off on a moment's notice. They are so flexible with my schedule and my two labs love it there. I'd recommend them to anyone. Thanks!

I was really disappointed in this boarding faculty. I travel a lot and often have to board my dog, which I hate, but have no choice. When I called the staff was very polite and friendly, and assured me that my dog would not be caged while stating with them and that dogs were allowed to run freely. This made me happy because my dog tends to get anxiety being out of his comfort zone and placed into a cage for hours upon hours. Anyways, when I first pulled up to Affinity, I was suppressed because it was in a strip center and I questioned where the dogs would have access to a run. When I entered, the place smelled of urine with a thick layer of potent chemicals, that seemed to try and offer a disguise - to no avail. This already made me uneasy but I decided it was early morning and maybe they were just getting to their daily routine of cleaning. Worried, I asked to go back and see where the dogs would be kept, I was refused (should have been a big red flag) because of "insurance purposes." The back was closed off and I was only allowed to peer over into a hold pin where they kept the dogs to acclimate before being introduced to the other dogs. I left him there feeling uneasy, which I sincerely regret, bit felt pressured with time. Two days later, when I came to pick up the dog, again, the workers were very nice and accommodating. Being later in the morning, around 10am, the place still smelled as if it had been soaking in urine and I was quite repulsed. What was even worse is that when my dog came out he reeked of urine too. I had an hour drive home with the windows cracked and immedatley went to the groomers to get him cleaned. It was gross, to say the very least. I mean well by posting this, I just wish there were more unbiased and honest reviews because I would have surely not boarded my dog here, and will never again for fear of his health and safety. view short comment

Where to start! The grooming service owner from hell experience. I have waited over a month to write this so I would have some cooling-off time. This web site is truly deceiving. If this guy thinks he is providing the proper services then he is delusional. First off, when you walk in it is dark, has strange layout for a waiting room, and smelled of cigarette smoke. I had taken my dog and after calling back twice to see if bath was finished (extremely slow service) I decided to go and check on things. When I walked in, the owner gave me a look that let me know he was not happy with me there. Grooming was not finished, when I asked about the delay he said that I should be happy to just get it done at all, since I wasn't paying. YES, he said that! (I had a coupon from animal shelter from having adopted the dog, otherwise I wouldn't have been there.) I asked if the slowness and his rudeness was due to the coupon, and this made him madder. He kept going to the door in back, trying to hurry the worker, trying to get me out. By this time he was waving his arm, pointing to the door, and saying "get out, get out". The nice"helper-guy" brought out dog, still drying her with towel (no toe-nail clipping, by the way), and helped me get her into the harness, much to the dismay of the owner who was saying "don't help her, don't help her!". Owner has zero people skills and folks, be wary of this place, take advice of the vets. If things don't go the way you would expect from a grooming business you will hear every excuse known to man if you question it. Affinity Retreat is like no other doggy daycare that I have ever seen. It is like a home away from home for my dog. She absolutely loves hearing the words "wanna go to doggy daycare". She spins in circles and runs to door ready to go, and barks at me if I am taking too long. When we pull into the parking lot, she knows right where she is and I can just open the door. Richard and Dale are so nice and accommidating to peoples schedules. Their passion is to care for your pet as if they were one of their own.
