Dog Boarding Facilities in New Jersey

I made an appointment to board our dog at Waggin Tail a month prior to our vacation. When I made the appointment, the woman simply took our info, and said we were all set. I called back a week prior to leaving, and asked if she needed her vet records and she told me to have them faxed. I had our dogs shots the Monday prior to boarding the dog on Friday. On Friday when I went to bring my dog, the man told me he could not take her due to their policy of the dog needing the bordetella vaccine 10 days prior to boarding. I claimed that no one mentioned anything about that when I made my appointment, in fact I was the one who called back asking if they needed records and nothing was said about their 10 day policy then either. He said it is their policy to ALWAYS mention that and I must not have heard it. I asked him to stop saying ALWAYS because it was not mentioned to me at all. I was insulted that he just implied that I must not have heard them tell me. He would not take my dog. I understand and respect their policy, I am just outraged that this man was rude and completely unsympathetic to the fact that this was their error and I was stuck with no kennel for my dog and leaving for vacation the following day. He did not offer me any alternative and simply turned me away in tears. I did not even receive a phone call after they received the fax of the records on the prior Monday showing the dates of the vaccines. They waited until the day I get there to tell me they cannot take my dog. This owner needs to work on his people skills, he was completely inconsiderate of my situation due to their lack of communication. view short comment
