Do not board your dogs here! I love trying local businesses and although I've been very satisfied using Petsmart in West Jordan in the past, and DogMode, I thought we would try a new option. I did a temperment eval and booked a stay from 12/13 - 12/16. I was very specific to the woman at the desk in that I was flying home with my child on Sunday night and my job precluded me from leaving my dogs another night until Monday. We discussed the options and she said that they have a 6 pm pick up on Sunday, but that she would be a little early that day and asked if 5:30 would work instead of 6 pm? I arranged for my sister to pick up my three dogs at 5:30 per our arrangement and discussed at confirmed this with the woman behind the desk. She wrote this in her log book and I again confirmed this with the two individuals who were working when I dropped my dogs off on Thursday. This evening while I was on my return flight with my child, my sister and her husband waited from 5:25 to 5:50 pm for someone to arrive. No one showed up, and the phone was on an answering machine and they left a message. There is not an emergency phone number to contact the owner. Upon my return, I learned that my dogs had not been picked up and I attempted to call myself and no one answered nor had I received any calls from Dogs R Us inquiring on why, as a new client I had not shown up to pick up my dogs. One would expect that if a new client went to such elaborate lengths to arrange a special pick-up, that they would follow through, or that arrangement or perhaps you might reach out to them to find out why you have 3 dogs in your care for an additional night. I "Googled" the owner's name from the website and it gave me a local address, but no phone number. Although I was hesitant to drop by someone's home unannounced, I did not have any other recourse as I could not pick up my dogs the next day. When I arrived at the address at 7:30 pm I saw people sitting in the front room, the lights were on and a "Dogs R Us" truck was in the driveway. I approached the house and the woman who booked the boarding answered the door. I let her know my sister was waiting per the arranged time that SHE suggested and she looked at me like I was absolutely crazy and said "oh, I had my kids today." What the WHAT? She then said she could meet me over there. I thanked her and we met at Dogs R Us about 10 minutes later. When we walked in she said "oh, by the way, Jeff said that we had to charge you an extra $20.00 because you picked them up late." I thought I was going to have a stroke! I reminded her that we had an arrangement, my sister was on time, we had pre-paid and that she suggested that 5:30 would be a better time for her. She said that she was there (she wasn't) and that she never said 5:30 would be better for her. She wrote it in her book! She put me on the phone with Jeff Peay the owner who was put out that I "came to my house at 8:30 at night and bothered us." I am a Director in a company that provides retail services and we employ over 1300 people. I have never been so disgusted by a complete lack of customer service as I was tonight. I was furious. I told them to go ahead and charge me and I would ensure I left my ratings all over the appropriate SLC websites. Because I work in an industry where we receive reviews based on customer service, I am sensitive to giving feedback that can damage a businesses reputation, but since there was an utter lack of care on their part AND they accused me of lying, I had had enough. To those of you who are crazy/passionate animal lover, my family and I are as well. We boarded our three dogs and we have 3 rescue cats at home. Our animals are our family and they are treated as such. I am an open and flexible individual, but after my treatment by these people and the discover that they never removed my Standard Poodle's Gentle Leader harness after I dropped her off (which I reminded them to do before I left) She has open sores underneath her legs. Try somewhere else. They may be okay for Day Care, but I would never trust these people to board my dog(s). Good Luck! view short comment
